Beaconhouse initiated SOT Events in the year 2000, as part of our continuing mission to reimagine the future of humanity and create a world in which we flourish as unique individuals, held together by the tapestries of our cultures, traditions and shared histories. Previous editions of SOT have been held in Kuala Lumpur, Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. These events serve to expand our understanding of global phenomena and day-to-day issues, through deep probing questions that challenge mainstream thinking and offer solutions to the myriad problems confronting us in the 21st century.
The SOT conducts panel discussions, one-on-one interviews, debates, workshops and cultural enriching entertainment. More recently each of the SOT series has covered five dimensions: A Symbiotic Future, A Balanced Future, An Unknown Future, An Expressive Future and An Inclusive Future. The conferences feature international experts from diverse fields such as education, media, art, science, politics, sports, development, and the corporate sector, to give insights on how to make the world of tomorrow a better place. Since 2020, due to the global pandemic, the conference has been organised as a virtual event, featuring thought leaders from around the world.
