Curriculum Customisation & Implementation

Beaconhouse Education Services supports schools to ensure that teaching and learning are effective and engaging for all. When teaching, learning, and assessment recognise and respond to the unique differences of individuals, all students can learn.

Customised curricula training supports schools in developing their own curriculum in response to the specific needs of their learners and communities. The goals of students and families are valued in the process, reflecting the needs of all people in the community, while still working within national policy guidelines. When schools work in this way, their practices become inclusive of all – bringing benefits to students as well as the wider community.

Digital & Technology Optimisation

The future of technology in education is evolving. Many of the available technologies can no longer support the modern K-12 or university experience. Others cannot be optimised, modernised, or even altered appropriately for a modern technology environment.  Recognising the need for state-of-the-art technology for the digital education age, BES offers:

  • Consultancy on the digital transformation of teaching and learning
  • Customised training on responsible digital citizenship
  • Guidance and education on child protection and child safety
  • Coaching on data driven decision-making in schools
  • Development of integrated learning and teaching platforms

Educational Research Design & Development

BES research and development offers solutions to achieve goals related to education or learning, such as improving student engagement or mastery of a skill set. We draw on existing theory and evidence to design and customise interventions or strategies, including testing individual components to provide feedback in the development process. These projects may include pilot tests of fully developed interventions to determine whether they achieve their intended outcomes under various conditions. Results from these studies can lead to additional work to better understand how to use data in decision making and school improvement processes.

Examination Boards' Assessments

The Beaconhouse Group engages with national and international examination boards, including CAIE, Pearson Edexcel, the International Baccalaureate Organisation, and the national examination boards of countries where we operate. Beaconhouse Education Services offers guidance on the management and services of national and international examination boards. In addition, BES offers customised student support across all subjects in the high stakes examination market.

External Evaluation & Quality Assurance

The School Evaluation Unit (SEU), offers high impact school, theme and cross-phase evaluations, monitoring and reviews. The SEU evaluates schools, and school systems, to support data driven decisions, enabling them in their effort to provide international quality education and ensure the well-being of young people in their care.

The team comprises highly skilled and experienced professionals, trained on international school evaluation standards. In 2021, the SEU proudly celebrated a decade of carrying out over 400 school evaluations, monitoring visits and 74 reviews carried out during school closures due to Covid-19. The SEU has also been involved with developing quality parameters to help sustain high, medium and low end private and public schools.

Partnering with Parents

Parent-school partnerships are widely promoted for the positive impact they can have on student motivation, engagement, behaviour, and academic and social outcomes. Partnership is more than merely involvement or participation: it is mutually determined and has benefits for all partners – students, families and teachers. The sphere of influence is two-way – schools recognise and celebrate each child’s individuality and welcome all families, while families, in turn, recognise their children as students, helping reinforce the importance of homework and activities that build students’ thinking skills.

Beaconhouse Education Services supports schools in developing policies and programmes that build community-based home-school partnerships.

Pedagogies for the 21st Century

Today’s educators need to equip students with the characteristics and skills that will help them live in this ever-changing technological world. Students must master problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills, and digital literacy. BES offers nine programmes to guide schools on learning design:

  • Academic honesty
  • Information literacy
  • Critical thinking
  • Creativity
  • STEM learning
  • Concept-focused learning
  • Health and mindfulness
  • Service learning
  • Learning support

School Governance & Operations

BES provides strategic direction and technical input to school management, ensuring compliance with local regulatory authorities. We support schools and school systems to create effective and efficient governance and operation systems, making them accountable for organisational performance, either as a stand-alone school or as part of a school network.

School Self-Review, Improvement Planning & Implementation

As part of school improvement processes, BES provides detailed reports to schools and school systems highlighting areas of strength, areas  for improvement and recommended strategies to mitigate them  as short, medium and long term priorities.

BES customises strategic direction, underpinned by the key principles of ‘Four Actions Framework’ to improve efficiency and productivity. The four key elements include Raise (standards and quality provision), Create (value addition), Reduce (high-cost, low impact practices and factors) and Eliminate (inefficient/obsolete practices). This supports educational institutions to move forward with agility, improved efficiency and productivity.

Staff Development & Continuing Education

BES offers a range of Continuing Professional Development programmes to ensure professionals remain updated with the latest knowledge, research and scientific findings to deliver safe and effective education. Ongoing programmes are measured by a system of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credit points. A professional must earn 10 CPD points per registration year through completion of courses provided by BES recognised CPD providers (10 CPD points are the equivalent of one day of education, including an assessment).
