Ayesha Kasuri is an expert at augmenting new programmes at existing schools and setting up new schools from the ground up. She completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology and graduate degree in Linguistics in 1997 from the Kinnaird College for Women. She also completed advanced education credits from The Buck Institute for Education and from the University of Aurora, Chicago along with completing 41 hours of training at Harvard University in ‘Teaching for Understanding: Focus on Student Understanding’.
Ayesha is certified by Association Montessori Internationale (AMI); a teacher trainer for Project Based Learning (PBL) from the Buck Institute, and began solely focusing on the Reggio Emilia Approach in 2009. She began her career over 20 years ago as an assistant teacher in South Riding, VA and most recently established and concurrently operates two pre-primary and primary Reggio Emilia and International Baccalaureate (IB) schools. She was an integral part of obtaining IB authorisation for all three levels of the IB programme.
Ayesha has led workshops in Kuala Lumpur for the Malaysian government at the School of Tomorrow conference; served as a panellist to discuss the needs of education in the 21st century at the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos in collaboration with Penn State University; and participates in a host of other professional conferences. She is the project director of Leo’s Workshop, a new brand of schools for the Beaconhouse Group, the first ‘micro school’ in Pakistan. She doesn’t consider her job work; she is passionate about education and considers herself a ‘lifelong learner’.
