Mariam Mian is the Head of Analytics at Teach the World Foundation, where her team won the 2020 Ideas for Action competition organised by the World Bank and the Wharton Business School. An experienced education specialist, her work focuses on improving the quality of education through innovative digital design and practice. Her research on using smartphones as a response to COVID-19-mandated school closures, was published by UNESCO.
Previously, Mariam served as a school evaluator for Beaconhouse, overseeing quality assurance of nearly 200 schools in Pakistan and abroad. She has also consulted for UNESCO, developing effective governance mechanisms for their CapED TVET programmes across 27 countries. She received her Master’s degree in International Education Policy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and her Bachelor’s degree in Economics and International Relations from Cornell University.
