Saira Butt leads the curriculum research, design and professional development for Early Years and Lower Primary at Beaconhouse. She has worked in the field of Early Childhood Education for over 20 years. Her work has involved teaching children as well as teachers and she has been a key member of the ECCE team working on the national curriculum for Pakistan.

Saira has conducted several research projects including ‘Play as a Vehicle for Learning’, ‘Learning through Story’, ‘Portfolio Assessment in the Early Years’, ‘Education Technology in Early Years Settings’, and ‘Project-based Learning’, all involving close cooperation with teachers and children in schools across Pakistan.  She has visited and observed work at the famous schools of Reggio Emilia, as well as the work of the Alternative Education Movement in the USA.
